 My DPMS REPR finally arrived....BUT

My dealer calls and says it came in.
I am pretty happy and than he says there is a couple issues.
There were a few options we had specifically requested and that obviously did not happen. AND
the price has gone up. Its going back to the manufacturer to see if they can get it right.
The AAC comp. adapter is the "old style" and my can wont fit.
The VLTOR charging handle was for a 5.56, wont fit.
The enhanced trigger guard was not installed (requested on P.O.)
There was No Harris Bi-pod or adapter included and WAS listed as standard equipment at the time of order (last Dec)
So we got issues and My dealer will be contacting customer service and I can only hope to get a good rifle someday.
It sure felt nice but it went back in the case to be shipped back. I hope it doesnt take too long to get it corrected.

Jettcity1,

The REPR includes the Bi-pod and adapter from the factory, also the last run of rifles shipped was 2/12. If the dealer ordered directly from DPMS in December he would be grandfathered in on 2011 pricing so the price would not go up. Not sure what is exactly going on with the dealer but something doesn’t seem right.

I am not paying another dime and the manufacturer will be fixing it and supplying me with all the parts that it was supposed to have (at the time of purchase).
I see no other option.
If the deal does not go through, I get my money back and get a different weapon from another manufacturer. Simple as that.

Build one and you won't have to worry about that kind of BS. Order parts that are in stock and you'll have it done in no time. You'll probably save money and have higher quality too.

My dealer spoke with a sales associate and said that DPMS is going to correct the items and throw in the Bi-pod and adapter. He did not fully understand that the AAC comp. adapter was in fact already obsolete for the AAC can I have but they are going to put on a new one that should fit.
I can only hope it doesn't take too long but nothing surprises me anymore. Yes, when the gun was ordered the Bi-pod was part of the package and they mentioned something about a "cut-off point" when they changed the specs. and I ordered it before that time.
Next time, I will either build one or order from another source, this is far too much time and effort to buy a rifle.
I'll keep you posted.

Yes, it appears that I am slinging dirt but I call it the way I see it. I may be a frustrated consumer but things did not go well with my purchase and My dealer is not at fault.
good luck guys (and gals) My first DPMS was good. hopefully My 2nd one will be too.

lets recap

xxxx this part out its not nice of me to say bad things

in xyz years of DIRECT
orders from DPMS,OLY and the rest,
not once has it been the Factory's fault
it has ALWAYS been mine.
and i am the most perfect thing on earth lol

anyway glad to hear/see that its all good now.

jettcity1,

To clear things up on our side, we did not have a "cut-off" date for the bi-pod or adaptor. All REPR's ship complete with the bi-pod and adaptor.

Also, your dealer spoke to the sales associate at DPMS? Who is your Dealer and who did he talk to at DPMS?

The AAC flash hider is not obsolete, it is the Blackout 51T which is current and fits all AAC 51T Ratchet Mount 30 cal. suppressors.

Does the serial number on the rifle end with the letter "K"?

My dealer said He is sending the upper back to DPMS per the phone conversation, I believe the AAC adapter did not have the 51 tooth, which is one of the problems. I did not write down the serial number yet since I dont even have the gun yet.
I'll try and get some more information but he is trying to get all this handled. Thanks for the assistance though,

Not to throw my dealer under the bus, hes trying to get this fixed and I am being as patient as possible.
The Bi-pod wasn't there.

I hope that's not the case - being built by someone other than DPMS, claimed as a DPMS factory rifle, but built on a DPMS stripped lower receiver...

So is the K indicative of a stripped lower? Only asking because the stripped lower I bought ends with a K (sort of haphazardly stamped at the end of what looks like a uniform SN) and just wanted to make sure that there isn't an issue with those.

I bought Mine from DPMS(through my dealer), I am from Mn. originally and gotta support the "Home Team". Even bought my carbine from a dealer in My hometown, Go Vikings!
I'll be on vacation there in a couple weeks.

correct, any DPMS lower not sold as a complete rifle gets the "K" on the ssn

My dealer got it boxed up and sent with a letter(requested) explaining the scenario.
I reviewed the letter and agreed.
I hope that this does not take very long, Summer is flying by here.

Update anyone? DPMS is not my favorite brand, because their chosen price/quality point is below what I prefer. But I have 2 LR-308's one factory on I put together. I have found DPMS to be very helpful, honest and responsive every time I contact them.

I got one of the early LR-308's and it had a couple minor issues that I called for advise on. The person asked me to send it in, as they wanted to give it a complete check over for their and my comfort. It came back finely tuned.

On the other hand I have seen more then one dealer telling flat out lies to make an extra buck.

That's one of the first questions customer service will ask...serial number with a K?

I feel lucky, my DPMS 308 only had the wrong buffer installed in it. Factory had to figure it out but I was still out $27 to ship it back to them. Now it works right. Live and learn.

I am sure the factory will get it corrected but the point is I should not have to go through this, especially after waiting for quite a long time to get one of their rifles.
I believe they make great quality stuff, thats why I ordered my .308 from them.
This whole thing leaves a lasting impression but a free hoodie, T-shirt and hat would make me happier when the rifle comes back.
I have set up a reloading bench, aquiring a tax-stamp and even bought a suppressor while waiting for this thing.
I have ammo, magazines and accessories all ready for this bad boy-including optics so yeah, I am ready for my new toy.
so guys, do your thing.
