I have read somewhere that people were having some issues with the pmags. I just traded for a 458 socom rifle and want to buy a polymer mag for it. Im thinking a 20rd instead of a 30 which will hold 7 rds I believe. Any input would be great cause I am not to familiar with this round other than its expensive to shoot. Thanks

I love the Lancer mags, either the L5 or the AWM which seems to be all the craze now. Personally, 6 of one, half dozen of the other; both work flawlessly. I don't care for P-Mags at all. Why use a mag that some bullets will not work with when Lancers will work with all bullet types?

Correct. As far as function I cannot tell any difference between the L5 and the AWM Lancers. From looking at them it seems the feed lips of the AWMs should be stronger but I have nothing to base that on other than the way they look (and they cost more!).

I have to agree 100% . I tired p-mags and ditched them for lancer l5's

this doesnt seem bad for a price. I kinda like the straight black rather than the see thru ones

I use the Lancer L5 without any issues.

There isn't much difference. The feedlip attach is a little stronger in the AWM and they removed the rib to have them fit in non-AR magwells (like the FS2000, etc.). And they added more texture and changed up the floorplate. I think the AWMs are nicer, but the L5s work just fine.

I have 4 x 30 round Lancers that are strictly for my .458. I'm thinking of picking up some more of them in all honesty. They work very well!

Hey Marty glad to see you're still with us.
How many rounds can you get in that drum? Do want

I'm ashamed to say I have yet to fire the 10.5 upper I got from you. It's in pistol form waiting for a stamp to SBR it.
I need to grow a pair s shoot it anyway.
Hope you're doing well.

That damn drum gets HEAVY!

But it's got to be scary staring down the business end of that monster....

I went with the lancers. I would love that drum but couldnt afford to shoot all those rounds

Some 30 to 33 in the drum. It DOES get heavy. Therefore that set up is well suited with a pintle mount and spade grip in the hands of Trunk Monkey.... even with a 10.5" barrel it spits out a lot of "stay the .... away"

Willz - yup, back "home" for a bit, although in two days I fly out again for a quick pop to another country. IF (big IF) all goes as planned tomorrow I will get to stay "home" for a while but it might also mean my stay here becomes quite a bit longer...

Does that Lucid red dot hold up to the recoil of a 458S?

The LUCID folks use the 458 as one of the testing media to ensure their scope holds up - so I would say yes. I have not heard of any reports of one failing with .458 SOCOM use...

My HD7 has held up to 4lbs IMR4198. Still going strong.

Thanks! I'm waiting on Wilson to release their .458S barrels, then my build is on.
