Questions to the people that own the RA barrels...

I am trying to figure out if I should get the Ultra Match
barrel or the Select barrel and I cant seem to make up
my mind...I know the UM is 1 in 10 and the Select is
1 in 11 twist...

So to the owners of this said barrels, are you guys
happy with either the ultra match or with the select
barrel???

what kind of accuracy are you guys getting with box
ammo??? I need two or three responds to decide which
one to get.

I have the 18" Ultra Match and I am very pleased with the performance and cost. I have tried several types of ammo and mine likes the 168gr American Eagle M1A, FGMM 168gr does fine also but the AE M1A stuff prints just a little better. I have 580 rounds thru mine and no issues. I built another rifle for my friend that is exactly the same except for the barrel, Noveske 16" in his and the Noveske is just slightly more accurate....SLIGHTLY, but the Noveske likes Black Hills 175gr. Would I buy another Ultra Match??? Absolutely!! Remember that Rainier has a 90 day guarantee on their Select Barrels so if you go that route and don't like it return it and upgrade to the Ultra Match, just a thought

Phenomenal Barrel for the cost.

When I was building an AR in 308 I was waiting for UltraMatch barrels to be back in stock. I got too anxious and bought a Noveske barrel instead. I can't say that I regret it, but my next build WILL have a Rainier Arms UltraMatch barrel.

Damn...just when the majority says to get Ultramatch they're out of stock.

I guess I have to wait a little longer...

but wait...What do you guys think of the Fulton Armory Barrel, 18.5", .308 Medium Weight, 1x10, Stainless
Match Quality, FA by Criterion?...theyre in stock.

I have an 18" Ultramatch and the thing outshoots me. Makes me look good actually.

From what I gathered around the information super highway, A.K.A the internet, the Ultramatch are Shilen blanks that are turned and profiled by Whit Oak Armament. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Those are supposed to be good too. Fulton sells their rifles and complete uppers with a 1.25 MOA guarantee. The Critereon barrels I have experience with have been solid 1 MOA performers.

I'm running an 18" Select and will be Fire Lapping it this weekend with Tubb's Final Finish. I'll let you know how she groups after the Fire Lapping.
