Daniel Defense 7.62 Lite Rail Questions

Trying to install my new 7.62 Lite rail on my MEGA MATEN upper (DPMS pattern). The rain instructions says that it is compatible with a DPMS barrel nut (as opposed to the DD barrel for DPMS which cannot be found).
This nut:
I have the rail plate over the receiver threads with the counter-sunk pocket towards the muzzle. The instructions say that the rail plate should still move when the nut is tightened?? If it will still move, it will only be the gas tube from keeping it from rotating which isn't right?
Second, it doesn't move. The barrel nut will secure the rail plate between the nut and the receiver. But, the plate is not chamfered or anything to allow it to self-center on the barrel nut so I'm not sure how it will center other than by trial an error?
What am I missing here?
ETA: Nevermind. I pulled apart my RIS to see how this all works. Apparently, I missunderstood the directions in that it is not just any DPMS nut but specifically the DPMS version by DD. Found it on Midway so guess I'll wait a few more days to assemble this sucker.
