We 6.5 Grendel aficionados have been impatiently waiting for Wolf Ammunition's 6.5 Grendel steel-cased ammo ever since David Fortier teased us with it in a magazine article, oh, almost two years ago now.

Just today a guy on my Website posted that Wolf has updated their Website and has listed their new 6.5 Grendel steel-case in the Polyformance section. Click here for Wolf 6.5 Grendel Steel-Case.

One step closer to 6.5 Grendel blasting nirvana!

Pending price and performance reports, this might be what puts me over the edge and makes me add a 6.5 to my stable.

What size primers?

Large Rifle, not Small Rifle like the 6.5 Grendel Lapua brass. Also note that the primers are Berdan.

Well, that's irritating. Would be nice to have fewer things to worry about it.

Huh? How so? You were hoping to reload steel cases? I'm not following you.

We've been reloading the gray steel cased Wolf .223 for quite some time now with no issues.

I'll bet many were hoping to be able to do the same with the G, as the brass is outrageously expensive. With the dollar losing constatly to the Euro, too, it's likely to only increase in price. Availability is sometimes spotty, too, unless you're willing to scour the internet.

Thus, Boxer primed steel cased G ammo would be worth it's weight in gold, and help ensure that more G's get shot more often by those willing to hand load.

Fair enough. Well, I guess there's always Wolf 6.5 Grendel brass cased at .54¢ a round.

According to Wolf's website, which does list the 6.5 Grendel steel in polyformance...the primer is berdan.

Here's a website for converting Berdan primer pockets to Boxer...this is for brass, but it may work for steel...that is as long as the Boxer primer is the same diameter.

What length barrel are they getting the 2620fps?

This looks like a nice present just in time for the summer shooting season for the 6.5 guys.
