I am looking for a better trigger than my stock...LPK trigger....crappy, crappy trigger pull.....Since i have a scope on my AR now, Id like a better breaking trigger, without breaking the bank (<- that was clever....atleast I thought so )

So anyway, I am not looking for a "Cheap" 2 stage trigger..... but a 2 stage trigger that doesnt cost an arm and a leg....I see RRA has one for barely under 100 bucks....is it a good trigger? anything cheaper? or?

I read the sticky above on triggers, and have done some research, and well...just want some opinions...

Can I modify my stock trigger to have a cleaner break??? ie. polishing? etc.

Thanks
E

RRA is a good trigger and I have seen them as low as $90 or so..

OR you could send your trigger to 'Bill springfield' (??) - to touching up/polishing

i have RRA 2 stage with a jp reduction kit...its really nice had haven't had any light primer strikes or ftf with 3 types of ammo i use.

2nd stage is like breaking a icicle no real resistance on the 1st stage either

Well

looks like my two options are:

RRA two stage, found it for $94 free shipping...

Bill Springfield work on my Single Stage.

Opinions?

No clue if Bill Springfield can fix you existing trigger, but the RRA is a really good trigger. Breaking an icicle is right. I like mine at the default weight.

I really enjoy my RR triggers. Never shot a Bill Springfield but have never heard anything bad about him.

It's been posted that you could stone and polish a trigger but it's pretty tricky. If you get through the surface hardening you could quickly have an unsafe trigger. I've read that if you do it with stones and by hand that you reduce your chances of ruining the trigger. You hear stories of how people did their own trigger jobs using their dremel and it just makes me cringe.

On a budget, I would recommend the RRA 2-Stage trigger. I have this group in two of my rifles and works just fine. Price is reasonable compared to others.

Forget the Bill Springfield bull shit. Do a search on here and you will find plenty of his triggers double tapping. If an affordable single stage is what you want, look for a ALG QMS trigger. Nice for a standard trigger, I like it better than the Spikes combat trigger.

The RRA has gotten better. I bought two at the same time several years ago. One failed in less than a thousand rounds. The other was at over 7k rounds before I sold it. So I'm a bit on the fence recommending those.

on the ALG trigger did it have break in time the reason i ask was i have a Spikes battle trigger and it took hundreds before it started even getting close to smooth like it is advertised. i'm looking hard at the ALG line. and i agrre also with the Rock River 2 stage triggers, they are hit or miss, but all mine have been great other than ones that binds pretty bad, i'm trying to get RR to take care of it, we'll see. but for the price point i would also try the CMMG trigger
