Hello, I have a stock Colt AR6720 coming and looking at replacing the hand guard. What is the measurement of hand guard i should be looking for?

Thanks,

Bruce

What do you mean? You need a 7" (carbine length) rail - if that's what you were asking. I had a Troy DI (dropped in) installed on mine.

If you don't need a Quad rail, consider getting an MOE.

No, that is for a mid-length gas system. It will not fit your rifle.

This is my personal opinion only, but there is no advantage for you to buy that drop in quad rail over a (much cheaper) MOE, because there is no clamping mechanism on those rails. They will be held in place merely by the tension of the delta ring. Installing sighting devices such as laser will not be advisable.

For dropped in options, you'll be better off getting something like Daniel Defense EZ CAR, or Troy MRF DI or a KAC (get a used one on EE). They'll be about 20 or 30 bucks more, but well worth it.

If you just want to install light, just get an MOE or one of those FSB light mount or an Elzetta light mount (unless if the new 6720 comes with a side mounted sling swivel, then do not get an Elzetta).
