Im free floating my 16" carbine and I have two quad rail designs I am looking at the first one is the Yankee Hill Diamond Series Free Floated Quad Rail or the Daniel Defense Omega Rail. My local gun shop has the Yankee Hill for 149.99 and will install it for a $20 fee. The Daniel Defense can be had for 249.99 and I could install it myself but I will have to order online. Which would one would you guys recommend in the way quality/value?

Between your two, the DD. Other than that, my Centurion is the tits.

I like Daniel Defense. I have the Omega rails on my 20" rifle.

Daniel Defense.

It's worth every penny - I will never get rid of this rail for any reason.

I put the rifle length YH diamond on my 16" carbine. I like it it but like others will point out it is heavy compared to others out there.

If your asking about quality/value? YHM at $149 is hard to beat, It locks up solid, is easy on the hands, a little on the larger side and slightly heavier too. I have a 12" Diamond and have no complaints.

A previous poster mentioned a Centurian Arms Rail. I also have their C4 Rail. A little more expensive, but out of these three options the Centurian wins hands down.

I have the Daniel Defense Omega rail.
It's a good quality rail that's very sturdy and is easy to install.

YHM has served me fine for many years. YHM is not good for tier 1 safe queens, as you must go with the most expensive, .mil contract, unobtainium possible.

I've had a YHM Diamond carbine length on my 16" lightweight Frankengun for a couple of years now. Think I got it for about $100. Works great, looks great, feels great to me, and does what it's supposed to do. DD is great stuff, but not worth the extra $$ to me for what I perceive to be no functional benefit. YMMV.

I like the YHM, I've got a 12.5" inch on my 14.5" middy. It IS a bit on the heavy and wide side, but I enjoy it. If you have the money, I'd upgrade to the DD.

Of those two I would rather have the DD OMega ...have had several of them through the years and they work well...good ergonomics and they are light.

With some lopro covers the YHM aint bad. The DD is more of an oval shape and is a little more comfy imo. Put some thick KAC panels or the like on the YHM and it really beefs the grip area up alot.
If I were running a straight VFG I would probably save and go with the Yankee.

I don't get it why everyone is so gaga over DD. I don't care for them myself. For a budget it's hard to beat YHM, MI makes good stuff. My personal choices are SWS, Apex and Troy.

From what I have seen, the difference between top tier rails is personal preference.

The cheaper ones tend to be much heavier designs. Keep that in mind. A difference of a quarter pound to half a pound may not sound like much, but it starts to mean a lot when it's hanging on your barrel.

I like the oval shape of the Omega. Feels much more natural than other "round" rails.

DD Omega. You dont have to remove anything from your gun but the handguards (delta assembly remains), and you can take the rail off and return to handguards if you so desire (like you sell it and want to keep the rail or want to swap uppers).

I have had both a YHM and a DD on my gun. I switched to the DD because it is much lighter and I have to carry mine long distances sometimes. The YHM was totally rock solid though, and if you are just target shooting, it will serve you well amd you can spend the difference in price on more ammo.

Put my vote down for YHM and the rest of the money you would have spend on the DD on ammo.
