First Post: LE6940 Marked
I just purchased my first AR15. It is a brand new, never fired LE6940 marked with the restricted tag on it. I was told after I bought it that I should hold onto it and not to fire it because it is collectable. I purchased it planning on firing many rounds through it. What is the collective thought on this rifle, fire it or not?
i never understood this, its like the kid who bought toys and never unboxed them to play with... SHOOT IT!

I just sent one of mine off to Adco to have it chopped and re-profiled to lightweight.
Shoot the thing and enjoy it.
Its your first and only AR wich means you may have to use it to defend hearth and home..I say lube it get good mags and some basic gear and make it your mainline home deffense rifle made more leathal by you knowing how to care for it and use it...get mags get ammo and get some training, learn to use the iron sights and then down the road an aimpoint or acog.....dont make it a safe queen..use it if for no other reason than your a free man and can....shoot.....use it.....stay free.

There were a whole lot of these rifles built over the years. There is nothing collectible about them.
Shoot the living shit out of it.

Shoot it. Welcome to the forum!
Shoot it!
Some people say OD Glocks are collectible, and mine has 10,000+ rounds through it.

Great choice! Like everyone says, shoot the bejesus out of it; it's a very accurate shootin' iron. Next to my M1A, the LE6940 is my next fav...

Congrats
Could buy 2.
Keep 1 in the safe for a back up. or to sell 10yrs down the road.
Welcome. Shoot it.
You just want someone to say "store it" so you can be justified in going out and buying another one! They're like potato chips...you can't just have one!
It's a collectable..... In two or three hundred years when all the other thousands of LE6940 no longer exsist. Kinda like a 2012 Mustang, it will be a collectable one day....
I was hoping that was the answer I was going to get. I was going to shoot it anyways, now I won't feel bad about it. Thanks for the input.
