What is the best AR15 Trigger on the market?

As it states above, I am looking to gather info so I make a more informed decision on my next build. Let me address that I am aware that certain triggers are suited for certain uses. I know that what might work for 3-gun competition is not necessarily the best trigger to go in your tactical gun or visa versa. With that said, I would like to know what would be the ideal Trigger for each category, whether it be for tactical, distance shooting, 3-gun...you get my point.

What do you think the best trigger on the market is for any specific application?
What do you think the best trigger on the market is for an "over all use" - something that would work for everything?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

People will generally say the Geissele high speed. It comes in a few different weights with the Service rifle weight being the heaviest (meant to sit just above the 4.5 pound minimum I think???). Do you intend to compete in service rifle competition? If you haven't considered it you should. It will help you grow very much as a shooter. For a do anything gun I don't think the 4.5 pound weight is too heavy. It may cause a poor shot or two but I'd be skeptical of anyone who says they are truly hindered by a 4.5 pound trigger.

ETA: Welcome to the board!

This is an impossible question to answer. Single/Two stage, adjustable or not, straight or curved trigger, standard configuration or unitized?
All you'll get is a bunch of personal preferences for each brand fan.

For me the SSA is the 375 H&H of FCG's. It's not perfect but excels in most areas

Chip McCormick tactical trigger is my favorite . Like clicking a mouse. Has no problem with light primer strikes with even the crappiest of Russian ammo.

I've got a couple of geissele's. They are pretty damn nice. I've used a couple of other two stage triggers, the geissele is nicer. But they are about the only company that makes a match trigger that is full auto capable, so I guess that kind of plays into it as well.

I like single stage triggers, so I have Timney and JP Enterprises. One is modular, and one is custom fit. I like them both. Different triggers for different purposes.

2 stage accuracy = Geissele Hi-Speed

single stage rapid fire = Geissele SD3G

+1, based on reviews from others.

Best do-it-all = Geissele SSA

I don't know the best, but my choice now is the Geissele SSA. I have a RRA 2 stage in one rifle and it is ok, but have always preferred a mil spec trigger till I tried the SSA. I'm gonna start slowly converting over to them now.

I can't say which is best; I just don't have enough time on every single trigger. That said, I absolutely love my Geissele SSA, and plan to use this trigger in all of my future builds that call for a custom trigger.

I love mine as well.

not too sure what the posters above are getting at with 2 stage for accuracy and single for speed..????

shoot what youre comfortable with. I personally find my shots get less accurate with a two stage, but thats just me and how I like to shoot.

I'm not a bullseye shooter by any means, but the Geisele SSA is a fantastic trigger. It's a 2-stage, but not a "match trigger" per se. It' just a very clean general purpose trigger.

JP Original

I've had triggers that cost more, but I've yet to have a better trigger.

Good for everything and very reliable / fit for duty with proper springs.

AR Gold gets my vote. It's a two-stage with a shorter travel and reset than most any single stage. Good for precision work and for 3-gun which is primarily close-up work.

Any of you Geissele fans want to trade their unwanted AR Gold for a Geissele Super 3-gun?

I doubt I'll get any takers because most who have tried the AR Gold know how good it really is.

I'm also game to try something new, so if anyone has a Wilson TTU (one-stage or two-stage) that they want to trade for my Geissele then let me know.

Not sure either... I have a 2 stage RRA trigger on a 20" DI Frakengun and the McCormick on a 16" LMT MRP Piston. Don't see the accuracy benefits from the 2 stage. The single stage McCormick is MUCH faster. My record is a 5 second 30 round mag dump with the McCormick. Couldn't even come close with the RRA.

The 2 stage is probably a bit safer, but I have no problem with light triggers on guns with a safety like my AR's and 1911. My M&P 45 on the other hand...
