I wonder how long SAW will take to make their prices competitive.

ETA - Is there something odd about the picture of the 6920 upper?

I'm surprised by the pricing! Not bad at all. Maybe this will be SAW's reality check.

What? That it has a Matech rather than a carry handle?

Prices are lower than I would have expected for Colt.

You and me both. I think it might be because we've become accustomed to SAW's gouging.

Even Brownells. A Colt charging handle iwas $70.00 IIRC. But colt is selling them for $20 which is pretty much in line with other online retailers.

Going after the lost market share. A few decent deals to be had. Better late than never. $21 for a new Colt charging handle is a deal.

The variety of configurations they sell will very much help them. While the colt products are of good quality, and the kool aid is surely strong, their variety is lacking.

Well spoken. Sure would be nice to see some new different models. Kool aid comes in different flavors for a reason. Think if they want to stay in the mix they are gonna need a mid-length. Shame they don't offer a flat top pencil barrel carbine and rifle length also. If I'm swapping uppers I'm not buying Colt. They have the ability, think they have about played out the M-4 game. Too much stuff out there equally as good for less. Bet they would like to unload those 24" uppers for $745 ea. Wonder what the scope mount looks like?

No, it's that the perspective on the receiver body and on the FSB don't seem to jive. Awkward photo editing I suppose.

With choices like BCM and Spikes its good to see Colt drop prices to be competitive

Not bad. They would have made out like bandits had they done this a couple years ago but better late than never.

This is a very positive development!

The prices are pretty good IMO.

This may change the plans I had for a BCM upper.

Anyways, do note that the uppers for sale on the colt web page are from the Colt's Mfg side of the business. Colt's defense models are not listed. The SP6940 and 6940 are the exact same thing as the Colts defense side, but Colt Defense, and SAW, have the real goodies like the 6933, the shorter 6940 variants, 6720, etc, etc. Thats fine and all as a NIB 6920 upper for $700 isn't cheap, but isn't out of reach either.

I own 2 Colt 6724's, the first one shot like a $3,000 rifle, the second one is a piece of crap for precision work. The mount is or was made by B-square and originally was a gloss finish and now is supplied in a matte black. It is a functional 1 inch mount best I can say for it.

I recently called Colt requesting information on re-barreling the first Colt 6724, and customer service did not know whether those barrels would be available... Yes, they are playing catchup!

Sabre Defense, Charles Daley, Bushmaster and Cproducts have all collapsed in the market turn down. But Colt is still selling plenty of rifles to the biggest markets, Police and Military.

Colt has been sold over the years as well same as bushmaster and cpro.

I wish they sold barrel assemblies factory direct..if they fall in line even more with what other manufacturers offer only their parts they would really cash in.

Give 'em a little time people... Hell if HK is selling to us dirty American civilians it's got to be a matter of time before Colt comes all out.

Imagine Colt selling a 16" middy? Or, imagine this, a 14.5" middy upper! I think that would a sure sign that the world is coming to a fucking end. Or maybe this scenario: Some fucking progressive guy in the higher admin dept stumbles on to BCM's website then goes back to corporate headquarters and says, "Hey, dudes, why don't we sorta copy what the fuck BCM does and give people a whole bunch of fucking choices?" Whoa! Imagine that!

Well this is sorta going 180 from what they were telling their LE Distributors when the ban lifted in 2004. I think, maybe sorta.

Does it seem that BCM is out of stock on 75% of what they offer as of late??

gonna have to ask ya not to bring up 04. I bought a law enforcment only marked Colt at the first gunshow, one of the last one that would ever be made with that marking on them as an investment............. lets see how 8 yrs later how that worked for me.....

Oh well still happy that colts selling stuff and HK is selling stuff, it's a good time for the gun buying public. Now if only ammo would go back down and that whole useless NFA thing would go away when the mexicans and terrorists are attacking so we can properly defend ourselves life would be perfect.

Until then, i'm going to be happy i can buy colt parts right from them

Bushmaster moved its manufacturing facility, it didn't collapse. Bushmaster still sells the majority of the AR15s on the commercial market. Like them or not, they are a major powerhouse in the AR15 world.

Whether you want to buy Colt parts or not, a major industry juggernaut releasing their parts at these prices will further decrease prices for everyone else. This is a very good thing.....

And layed off all the workers.

different workers building the product at a different location. Is that really still a Bushmaster, or is it a DPMS?

One thing I am curious about is whether or not this stuff is made to the same spec as their COlt Defense products. For instance, are the bolts, HP/MP tested, and shot peened? Are the barrels all MP tested? I would assume that they are, but I dont see it all marked on the website. I cant imagine that they wouldnt do that stuff, but you never know. Stranger things have happened...

Can you really be serious? Because a company moved and hired a local workforce it is not the same manufacturer's product? I don't know any particulars about Bushmaster but from can openers to cannons your logic does not make sense. If the specifications and quality control of the final product have not been changed then the location of the business and workforce would seem irrelevant.

Of course they are. Colt doesn't even make AR15 carriers anymore. The M16 BCG they use is the same across the board. Colt through and through.

I guess a GM vehicle isn't really a GM vehicle given all the plants they've moved and closed.

Yea you do have to wait for them. I signed up for the email list to get mine.

Point is you can buy a quality government profile 20 inch a4 style upper. Finding a government or lightweight a2 or c7 upper on the other hand is not as easy. I'd love to buy a colt 6520 complete upper on the cheap(as in around the price they are selling the others) that I could get cut down for one of my sbr'd lowers. I was thinking of buying a complete 6520 to sbr as it seemed like one of the only options for a quality lightweight upper with either a c7 or a2 upper. I don't need the lower right now though so it would be extra money I don't need to spend.
