 AR15 Color Schemes!

I'm re-building my AR15 and I'm going from a straight black setup to a Magpul Foliage Green scheme, or was... I just placed my order.

Then while I'm browsing Larue Tactical, I see their UDE (Urban Dark Earth) which I absolutely love. I think the grey-on-black scheme looks sooooooo sexy. The only problem is I can't find any good rails (ladder rails Magpul style) that would fit them, and then there's the question of whether or not I can still cancel my Magpul order!

How does Foliage green look IRL? I've seen some super sexy pictures of it, and some pictures in certain lights are very underwhelming.

To me its more grey then green, although, in direct sunlight, it has a slight green to it. It's not OD, but its not UDE. Make any sense?

haha...

although i JUST made a thread about my new rifle here is an excuse to post the picture AGAIN... sweet.

Stock - VLTOR Foliage Green
Grip - Magpul Foliage Green
PMAG - Magpul OD Green
Index clips are actually UDE but you can barely see them in that picture... and larue's index clips are hard to tell the difference in foliage and UDE anyways.

there you go.

So... should I cancel my order and get Larue's UDE?

I don't see Foliage looking as good as the UDE.

the UDE is sexy, no doubt about it.

Only thing you have to decide for yourself is if the UDE is worth the extra money it costs to get their stuff in it... pretty sure it will cost you a little more than other colors from other vendors. (but i havent researched that so don't quote me)

Another thing to consider is i think they only offer than UDE in certain items, so if those particular items are EXACTLY what you want then your GTG, otherwise your SOL if you wanted a different stock or something than what they offer.

Another option that some people are doing, with pretty impressive results is they take foliage or FDE stuff and use RIT dye to change the color, it seems easy to do and some of the colors they are putting out are pretty neat. Might want to practice your colors on some dust covers or something first though

I like the UDE as a color though... alot. If they offered it with a VLTOR stock id probably get it.

Is Magpul usually honorable when it comes to cancellation of orders? I placed an order with them for around $500 and no more than 2 hours later I'm trying to cancel, but their offices are closed. If they refuse to cancel my order, well then I'm stuck with foliage green.

LaRue offers several rail cover options in UDE.

At least with stuff like packs, foliage green seems to vary a lot, sometimes it's a greyish color, sometimes a blue/green
