Anyone have an OD AR15? I'd like to see some pics before going that route. I'm trying to make a carbine look similar to my MC Operator. Green Lower, Black upper

Here is a view of our semi completed 10.5" SBR L.W. piston upper conversion on a LMT upper and Colt lower. We are awaiting our first batch of ARM-R/C F.F. rail system. The finish is Mil-Spec O.D. green by TR Gun-Kote applied by me and Darren.

Here are some more photo's

All I have is Green Furniture.

I had to put it in anyway since it's the first picture I've put up of my first and certainly not last AR.

That was the best pic I could find online of that one, I can take some more soon but that rifle is towards the back of the safe. Probably not right away.

Stick

I know your good with photoshop and images and have different configuration AR's, any chance you can come up with a photo similar to this (left side, stock extended) with just the lower in OD green. Not the buffer tube or grips or handguards, just the lower itself

I have a OD lower. If you want I can put an upper on it and take a pic later on. It has a stock on it now too.

For the record, the pic Variablebinary posted is my MC Operator. You can read my review of it here:

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=357242

Variable, you can use my pics but next time you might ask me first bud. You wouldn't want people thinking you and I are the same person, it could ruin your reputation on the boards!

Actually, I suck with PS, the only PS pictures I've ever posted have all been done by Whisper_44, my usual photos are not PS'd.

I do not have any pics like that, but I have a few that might be close. I have court that I'm leaving for, but I'll see if I can dig up more when I get back.

That'd be cool. I'm just trying to see if two-tone works, or if OD upper and lower together works better. I like the two-tone OD of the Operator. Para and Wilson Combat also offer this same color scheme, and it always looks good. Dont know if it works for M4's though

And I'll go on record and say the photo isnt my 1911, but it was easy to get since I am following a review thread in GD. I'll post a photo of my own when I get a chance to appease certain people

Variability, if you don't like too much contrast, the "Mil-spec OD green" from TR gun kote (supplier of wilsons, but not the same color) is an excellent comprimise. Just green enough.

This is Norrell's Molyresin on the metal parts, furniture is Armalite's OD.

Closeup of Eotech 512 and DPMS Mangonel rear sight system.

A closeup of Norrell's Molyresin and Armalite OD furniture. As close to perfect match as I could ask.

Cavalry Arms lower. Again, a good match.

The Cav lower looks darker, but it has a more fuzzy, flat surface texture. It is not as reflective as the Norrell's. Without flash it is a better match.

How hard is it to apply the Moly Resin? Does it need to be baked? I recall someone saying in another thread they used a finish that dries at room temp.

Norrell's must be baked, but this is easy. I used the oven in my kitchen. It will not cure properly without heat. There is no "activator" like epoxy, it is heat cured. This stuff is TOUGH. Very scratch resistant. It goes on very thin, bonds well, and looks like the metal is just colored, does not look like paint in the least.
