Viking Tactics/Troy Battle Rail question
This question is for all you people out there with this rail. I am looking at the 15" model and want to install it on a 16" barreled carbine. What I want to know is if I cut out a pocket to wrap around the FSB would I be able to put the FSB into this pocket, slide the entire rail over the barrel and onto the barrel nut, and then be able to knock in the taper pins? a big pain in the butt I know, but a much cheaper option than buying another DD RIS II.
Do you mean you want to install the 15" TRX rail on a carbine gas barrel with FSB still attached? But you plan to machine a hole in the top rail for the top of the FSB to poke through? I just cut the top of the FSB off my middy barrel and made a low-profile gas block out of it, then put an 11" TRX rail over it with a Troy fixed front sight on the rail.
Also, do you mean the standard TRX with all 4 sides railed or the TRX Extreme with all the holes/slots (holes in Troy | slots in VTAC)?
This sounds interesting.
I already got the info I needed but thanks for your response.
