Daniel Defense Lite Barrel Nut Wall Thickness - Issue?

ETA: I just google image searched some pictures of the DD Lite barrel nut and some of the pictures show that these cuts were there from the factory?
If that's the case, then I guess I just never noticed them before!

I've installed and reinstalled my DD Lite rails without issue a handful of times. But this time that I took them off of a Vltor MUR-1A (if that matters in regard to material), I noticed that at all four barrel wrench slots, I could see light shining through. I've included pictures below of all four barrel wrench slots, and those horizontal, silver slivers are not scratches but are through cuts. It seems like the upper receiver's threads are carving the material out here. But what do I know. I checked my upper receiver's threads and there doesn't seem to be any abnormal damage. Anyway, I was just wondering if this is common and if the barrel nut is good to go to be installed again.

And as a side question, I applied some heat to the barrel nut and portions of the barrel nut collar turned a bronze color. I'm not as worried about this, but just thought I'd throw that out there in case anybody wants to comment on it...

Thanks, guys.

This is completely normal and present on most of our RIS II/AR15 Lite Rail barrel nuts. We had a batch a long time ago that weren't as deep, but they didn't have enough engagement with our wrench so we went back to the previous design. Rock on. You're good to go.
