I recently purchased a gently used Daniel Defense V-1 and have been testing it for accuracy. It came well optioned with 1,000 rounds of ammunition (52 & 55 grain). The one "problem" was that it had a very inexpensive scope mounted on it. I swapped it out for the new Leupold VX-R 3-9x40mm Patrol scope. Shooting factory Hornady Match 75 grain ammunition five shot 100 yard groups were under seven tenths of an inch and five shot 200 yard groups were under 1.4". I am well pleased with both the rifle and scope.

Good shooting! I purchased my first AR (a DD M4V3 LW) a couple weeks ago and in my limited experience, it likes 68-75gr bullets best. 55gr rounds seem to be less predictable, maybe due to the 1/7 twist.

After I got it zeroed, I managed a couple .80" groups at 50 yds thru the irons with Black Hills Reman. "Heavy Match" 68 gr ammo. I'm more than pleased considering this is my first introduction to both irons and the AR...I've probably only shot 90 rounds thru this platform total.

After months of comparing high end ARs, I chose the DD and couldn't be more pleased. Fitment and finish is second to none! I'd love to know who does the anodizing for DD, its by far the nicest I've ever seen.

Viva Los Black Creek Boys!
