 SR-15 Ambi Mag Release Rattle?

Hey guys, new Knights owner here. I just went to fill out my paperwork on my new SR-25 EMC that arrived today and my SR-15 lower (I hate delays, won't get to shoot them until tonight >_<) When handling then SR-15 lower (used, purchased on the EE) I noticed that the ambi mag release paddle on the left of the receiver had a TON of rattle to it, basically if you touch the gun it starts to make noise. My friend has an SR-15 that doesn't have this kind of rattle, is there a way I can snug this up so that it stops? It doesn't seem to affect function, if I depress the lever everything seems to work normally, just something I find a little annoying. Thanks!

Tighten it just like you would any mag release.

The problem is it is the left paddle held in place with a pin, not the right one that screws in.

You will likely have to tap the pin out and then tighten it. However, if you can find a manual online or by contacting KAC reps, that would probably be the best idea. They have contact information in the pinned thread at the top of the forum.

Bump for anyone knowing how to tighten this up? I sent an email but nothing back yet, any advice would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I am probably just going to remove it altogether.

I have a lower receiver here on my lap at the moment, so please have your lower in-hand and let me ask a few questions:

1. On the right side of the receiver is the oval shaped magazine release button, is the central "hole" pretty much filled up by the threaded magazine catch bar shaft coming in from the other side of the lower receiver?
The end of that shaft should be close to and slightly below flush with the outside surface of the button.
Also in this condition, the ambo release on the left (that is rattling) should have no play at all because it's upper lifting arm is trapped behind the magazine catch bar, which is spring loaded from under the button.

If not, depress the button from the right side with a punch (like 1/8" in diameter) as far as possible and you will cause the catch bar to stick out on the left side of the receiver. Rotating this catch clockwise will move the shaft closer to flush with the button. Rotate the bar one-turn and see if it still works to retain/release a magazine. Now see if the rattle is gone?

With the receiver I have here, the only way to make that ambo release paddle "loose," or to rattle is for the threaded shaft of the magazine catch bar to be way too far to the left, which would also mean that the end of the shaft would be well below (more than 1/8") flush on the right-side button.

If all this is then assembled properly, and the rattle is still present, insert a magazine and see if it is released by only the ambo paddle?
So if by pressing in on the ambo paddle, this does not "lift" the catch bar sufficiently to release a magazine, then the ambo catch itself is defective.

Please let me know the outcome of the above.
