I would seriously like to add a S&W M&P AR-22 to my rimfire collection, but I want it to use BDM mags.

That would be a great idea, especially if they offered the drum mag.

Well heres what S&W did, they signed a confidentiality statement with me and I send them samples of all our magazine models. They looked at them and then wrote back and said thanks but we are going to develop a "stand alone magazine" So now they have a mag that you cant get and a gun that nothing else work in it. Going to have to see if there is enough demand for this one.

Bump for demand. S&W does not even have any available.

Well you can get them if you look real hard and they are expensive. My drum with the tower mod works real good and I think we have enough demand now for a mag build. The smith gun seems to be real popular but its just to "plastic" feeling to me and no threaded barrel ect.

Kevin, you know we all love ya.......but they aren't too hard to find, nor are they real expensive.

I still say yes......especially if you do the steel lip version.

There will be a good demand for S&W mags, especially with steel lips. Guys are having to settle for pinned 25 round mags in 10 and 15 round compliant states. S&W is now making a version with the threaded barrel. This is a popular .22, even with the hickups it has with the extractor.

I would be in for some BDM mags for my 22. Though it's plastic it's still the only one I can truely train with bolt hold open. I'm sure as ammo gets more costly agencies will start training with this rifle over the 10/22 variant out there.

I would buy BD mags at a higher price than S&W :

If they were guarantied to run as good or better than S&W parts(no brainer)
If they beat S&W parts in all aspects of durability, body, lips ect. For those of us that may do alot of "Costa" mag changes.
