DSA is accepting orders for Type III receivers!
Based on the responses to my inquiry on FAL Files about the level of interest in type III receivers, DSA will be doing a limited run of 100 units, carry handle cut. DSA will begin taking orders today. ETA is about two months out. I am not sure when we will run them again, so if you have been waiting now is your chance! Called DSA, and ended up ordering three: two for me, and one for a friend of mine since his debit card had it's number stolen, and a new one was enroute...
By the time he gets it, these receivers will likely be sold out.
And the price on them is VERY reasonable.
So anyway, I call DSA, I get forwarded over to the sales department, and the salesperson had no idea that Type III receivers were available. We argued about it for a moment (I started reading the FAL Files forum post), then another lady overheard the conversation and advised her that yes, they were making a limited run of Type III's.
Once that situation was resolved, the order process went very smoothly. The FFL I wanted to transfer them to was even already on file, which made things MUCH easier.
As I was completing the order, I heard the other salesperson selling four Type III's to another customer, so these are going fast, folks.
Thanks DSA for offering these again. Now I've got the two correct receivers for my eventual pair of Para FAL's (one 16", and one 18").

You can do that as a transfer purchase, just make sure that your FFL has notified us in advance that such purchases are acceptable. I would not wait long as this may be a one time deal if some new draconian ban comes along. I sure hope not!
