What is the OD on the large section and what is the diameter on the smaller section. The GB-SASS is advertised as .9...". What muzzle break that goes back over the barrel could be used with this barrel. I want to use a Surefire MB762SS/AL muzzle break, but I'm afraid that the smaller diameter section of the barrel is too large for the muzzle break to fit over. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks,

I bought a YHM Phamtom and it fits great. Bea aware if you are building that the SASS barrel has a larger dia behind the gas block an normal .936 gas blocks (including the DPMS low profile) will not work. The gas tube will be below the barrel dia and not slide into place. DPMS has done a real bad job of informaing people about this. The barrel spec page only states that gas port area is .936 DIA, which would lead one to think that a .936 gas block would work. The special SASS gas block is over 100 freaking dollars while the normal .936 low profile gas block is $25. Can you say RAPE.
If I understand what you mean, an "over the barrel" muzzle brake will have have to clear a .936" barrel.
Oh, and the larger diameter portion of the barrel is over 1.3" but I don't have a caliper to give you the exact measurement.

1.050 ya DD hand guard nuts won't work just to let you know i found this out the hard way
So for those with a SASS, since I live in CT I would need to get a comp/brake pinned.
I was looking at the JP Tactical's.
Before I order one, I just want to verify the OD barrel size. By the sounds of it I would need to get this..(JP Tactical Compensators - Large Profile)
JPTRE-5.58B.925
I was hoping to be able to use this (since I already have one...) but i think the jump in size is going to look "off"
JPTRE-324
Thanks in advance!
I was actually looking to mount a Surefire MB762SSAL/RE muzzle break for fast attach of a surefire suppressor, but the barrel will have to be turned down to .75" from the muzzle for 2.75" back to accomodate the "over the barrel" muzzle break.
