Upper receiver issue
Recently I've noticed that pieces inside my upper receiver have been worn off. I have the carbine length system with the 1 piece BC and It seems to be from the 1 piece carrier hitting the inside wall. Has anyone else noticed this and is it an issue that I need to worry about?
Is this in the half moon section where the cam pin hits it? If so that is common but not a show stopper. The guys will ask for pics if you have them. HTH

Yep. That's where it's at. I get some pics up this weekend.
Its common. Once it gets to a wear point it stops. I haven't discussed it on here. But my colt M4 (real deal) has them and it is a DI gun. It happens.

Cool. I'm not going to worry about it then. I have never noticed them on my work rifle and it's DI. I'll have to take a closer look. I've found some other guys with the same problem over on M4.net. Everyone there said it was common too. Thanks for the info!! By the way, your handle "TNRonin", are you around Ft. Campbell?
I'm in Cookeville, mid-way between Nash and Knox on I40. If you have had much work done at the gun shows in Nashville around the DS/JSC booth you have probably talked to me.
Regarding the cam pin wear. I honestly think there is a connection between working the action with the charging handle on the DI guns, and the recoil function of the piston gun. The reason I say this is due to the fact that with a DI gun gas expansion functions the bolt, with the piston gun it is that scallop angle which moves the pin with no gas help. My wear has not changed in that area since I've installed the piston system (AA) FWIW.

Sounds good. I checked several weapons at work and noticed the wear mark on more than one. I'm not going to stress it anymore. The rifle functions perfectly and is accurate. Anyway, thanks for all the advice and info. Maybe I'll run into you at the next show.
MIGHT be there Sunday. Dunno yet. Have to go to a wedding on Sat. Damn inconvenient of them to schedule it on both my birthday, AND a gun show day. Oh well it is my best friend's son so I guess I'll be at the wedding.
