Ok guys just picked this Colt up at the big Tulsa Gun Show. Help me out with what model it is.

Obviously no Flash hider or bayonet lug. Small front take down pin, already drilled for the spring and detent and I already changed out the pin/screw. Large FCG pins, no sear block just the web.

Barrel is Gov profile, not an HBAR, dated APR 2000. Half circle, but shrouded firing pin BC.

Now here is another question for you, the bolt doesn't have the MPC on it, in fact there are no markings on the bolt. The bolt has the same amount of wear as the rest of the rifle. Do you think that it has been replaced or did they ever come that way?

Also the trap door on the Buttstock is plastic and the buffer is a black plastic piece - Are these common of Colts of the era?

It's the post ban version MT6551 with the 1/7 twist government profile barrel.
They are a fine rifle, I used to have one awhile back.
Mine had the plastic trap door and that goofy plastic buffer
which I later replaced it with a milspec M16 buffer.
The barrel on it was stamped 07/00 and the serial was CST009xxx
You should get the barrel threaded and put a A2 FS on it.

If you don't mind me asking what did it cost ?

I've got a NIW A2 barrel that I got off the EE a year or two ago already, just need some time to switch out the barrels. I already replaced the buffer and buttstock trap door with Colt USGI parts. Setting this up to be as close to my issue A2s as I can. If it wasn't for the larger FCG pins and the lask of the happy switch, this would be perfect.

I paid $870 for it at the gun show. Not a steal but an ok deal considering there is not much wear on it and it' overall condition.

It's a postban 6551. I own that exact model. It shoots good.
