Guys- need some help picking out a reasonably priced scope to go on top of the carry handle of my stock MT6601. Perhaps in the $100-200 range. Mostly used for target shooting no more than 600 yards.

Also, my 6601 does not have a compensator. What are the pros/cons of adding one? If it is just to reduce recoil, I don't think it would be necessary as there is very little felt recoil anyway. But your comments are appreciated.

Thanks!

My recommendation is to save up and buy a M16 carry handle mount ACOG. IMO, if you don't have a nice optic, don't get one and just stick with irons.

I had one of these on mine and absolutely loved it.

If you don't mind not having a compensator, then don't install one.

How about a scope like this, and a carry handle adapter? Colt 3x9

it's hard to find a quality scope in the $100-200 range..
maybe you can find a good deal on a 4x retro colt scope.

IMO, a Compact ACOG is the best optic for a fixed carry handle. they're expensive but they're lightweight, sit as low as possible and will last forever.
I used to have a TA44 on my MT6601, like the one posted by Predator, and loved it.
maybe a TA33 would be a better choice if you want to shoot out to 600yds.

as for the compensator.... I've never felt the need for one....the 223 recoil is so little and the 20'' HBAR with rifle stock make it feel like a 22lr.
I put a milspec flash hider instead to restore the original look

If you want to scope your rifle, I've found the Leupold VX-I series (at just a little over $200) to offer the best clarity and brightness of any scope in that general price range. They really are worth the little more than you'll pay for a lower-priced scope.

Get a compensator if you want one, but as you've already noted, it isn't necessary.
