 Trigger concerns with my ACR

I just picked up my ACR yesterday and I didn't have a chance to play with it until now.

I was running through a function check today and noticed that if hold the trigger down while the rifle is on SAFE, I could hear the disconnector clicking when I relaxed the hold on the trigger. I tried it a few more times and each time, I could move the trigger far enough while on safe to engaged the disconnector when I opened the bolt. Is this normal or is my rifle out of spec?

Mine does not do that. It makes a tap noise, sorta, just the tail end of the trigger hitting under the safety. Definately not the disconnector making the noise though.

Thanks. I was a little worried that it'd work itself further and further each time until the safety no longer functioned as a safety.

Its the trigger resetting. Believe its the trigger catching the hammer as the disco releases it.

Take the lower off. Put your hand over the hammer to catch it, and squeeze the trigger.

Slowly let the hammer forward, then use your hand to push it back as you hold the trigger to the rear. Notice how it catches when all the way back? Now let the trigger go forward. The hammer will move ever so slightly as the trigger catches the hammer notch.

I realize that. I was worried that I was able to move the trigger enough to activate the disconnector while the rifle was on Safe.
