I've been trying to decide which to get: Acr or Scar... Any input would be appreciated I am sure some of you went through the same.

I also found this vid on an ACR having problems:

Anyone else experience this?

That video has been around for a while. I feel for the guy, and Bushmaster should make it right. But, considering how many ACR's are out, and how many malfunctioning vids there are, I wouldn't worry. FWIW, I just sold my SCAR to get an ACR, and I don't regret it for one second. I only have 300rns through my ACR without any problems, so I can't make a fair evaluation yet, but I'm confident in it.

I've got 2Krds through my ACR and it has yet to have a malfunction.

I also had a SCAR and bought a ACR

When I first got my ACR I was having some issues with Silver Bear ammo. The extractor would rip the lip off the cartridge and the round would get lodged in the chamber. The only way I could get it out was to use a cleaning rod to push it out from the muzzle. Last week I brought it in to work and 3 of us put 300 rounds through it in about 10 mins with no stoppages of any kind using various ammo... no Silver Bear though.

I'm having the same problem. For now I'm on the wait and see approach. It doesnt look like there is anywhere to buy a spare bolt, carrier and barrel for the SCAR. I'm thinking that there will be more aftermarket support for the ACR as well as more spare parts.

500 rounds through mine and no problems with Federal XM193. With the number of vids that JDeluisa has posted on his ACR, even AFTER he had sent it back to BM, I'm beginning to wonder if he isn't sabotaging his rifle to make it look bad on purpose. I hate to cast apersions, but seriously, he is either the most unlucky gun owner who ever lived, or something fishy is going on...

Not a single problem w/ my ACR except it isn't wearing an ACOG...yet.
Had about 150 rds through it. Federal XM193 and Federal 223 (BP223BL)
The Rainier Arms Xtreme Tactical Compensator XTC is fantastic btw.

So how bout the location of the selector switch on the acr? I have seen some bad reviews on the location and the play of the selector switch.

The other thing I have read was that the accuracy on the acr was not as good as the scar because of the way the barrel locks on the acr: Any truth in any of that?

I have been leaning towards the acr enhanced model but I haven't made up my mind as of yet.

Any more input would be appreciated on this subject

thanks

You figure after that many problems and the horrible publicity that video gives BM that they would have given him a new rifle by now. I think something is fishy there. Why do you go through all the effort to make those videos to show the world you got a bad rifle?? Way too much time on your hands there. When you watch the video he knows its going to fail. I think that video is a disgruntled gun owner trying to make BM look bad.

Its obvious the FTE condition gets progressively worse over the course of the vid ie rounds fired. Looks to be a dirty stick to me. I mean the guys aim was to "fire it til it fails" right. Looks like a job well done. Clean that pup mang! Nice production quality vid though.

Basic with enhanced stock. I have the barrel tightened down as far as I could by hand without bending the ratchet (which could happen from what I heard). ARs I have are BCM middy uppers.
