Not as much as I should. I normally try to get out at least twice a month

Have you tried shooting it with standard GI milspec mags?

Not yet but next time I go I will make it a point to just for you

I did drop my rock river trigger in the pack today so I will be testing that the next range trip aswell.

I think I'm just going to keep this thread updated every range trip

Thanks, after hearing my 2 friends say they had trouble with the GI mags and reading some reviews in magazines it made me nervous buying one. I live in a ban state and we can't get the p mags.

Most of my USGI mags have magpul followers in them. I still have a few that don't but its something you might consider putting in your mags if you live in a ban state, they run great. but again I will try to get to the range again this next week for you and post some videos so you can see for your self.

God I have got to get me an ACR.

It kills me how fast a mag change is with this thing. That bolt release is quick isn't it.

How long did it take for the bolt release to wear in to where it is smooth and easy to release quickly?

It was pretty much that way out of the box. I use BAD levers on my AR's so I'm already used to the location of the controls...still it is a very fast rifle....and I was moving kind of slow that day.

My USGI mags work fine in my ACR, I have a mix of magpul and green or orange followers.

I like the side folder. I tried the AFG on one of my rifles and ended up replacing it with a FUG that I use like a hand stop.

It is, but it shouldn't matter unless it gets snagged.

So I got another hundred rounds through her now with the battlecomp, folding stock, and new T1 micro. I'm still loving this thing.

Its fantastic. Keeps the gun level and combined with the two stage trigger is a rape train

Where can I board this train of rape?

I've tried the Battlecomp. For ME, it was terrible. If there were any birds in the sky, they would have fallen to their death.

So on our honeymoon me and the new Mrs. M249 put a few more mags through the ACR. As for squirrell18's question about USGI mags I ran a couple of those today and I am happy to report that I had zero malfunctions with them.

sorry about the vid not having any sound

Ok so I finally had a chance to run some USGI mags. I had three different mags, The first had a magpul follower, the second a green follower, and the third which you can not see on the video because the camera fucked up was a colt 30rd mag with a black follower. All three mags ran perfect and they were run after the gun was already hot.

Current configuration: Basic ACR, Enhanced folding stock, Aimpoint T-1 Micro on LaRue Mount, Surfire M620V Scout Light with SR07 rail mounted pressure switch, Magpul RVG, and Battle Comp 1.0

Round count as of range trip yesterday stands at 1240 with no cleaning

You Tube vid

and some pics for the hell of it

Stock made a huge improvement. Nice stick. Need to get that front sight turned around though. Then it would be perfection.

As soon as I get the chance I'm dumping those sights. I hate them they are way too big. Thinking some KAC Micro sights are in order

So on Friday me and a buddy of mine took my ACR and his SCAR 16 to the range. Long story short....the ACR won....I will explain.

After having zeroed the SCAR we decided to get them a little dirty, we both detached our slings from the front point and left the rear attached. Holding the loose end of the sling tossed them out into the muddy retention pond.

I wish I had taken the time to document this more but hindsight is 20/20

Anyway, after getting them out of the water we shot them....the ACR won in that it downed 60 rounds with no failures. The SCAR on the other hand failed to cycle, it would fire one round and then you would have to manually cycle the bolt. It took field striping the rifle and rinsing all the mud out to get it running somewhat....it would still fail to cycle about 60-70% of the time.

My friend is now getting ready to sell his SCAR and get an ACR

Unfortunately due to this test I did go ahead and clean the hell out of the ACR, round count before cleaning was at about 2300
I'm also including some slow motion videos from a few weeks ago

Nice update. I think you guys should go out again before he sells his SCAR and document all this, take some pictures, etc... maybe even a video or two.

There's a lot of ACR haters and SCAR owners that would be interested in this.

+1

I'm pretty sure one of my former coworkers used to masturbate himself to sleep looking at pictures of the SCAR until he bought one. He still thinks the spent casings smell like roses and I'd love to have pics and videos of an ACR thrashing a SCAR in a torture test to show him.

He gave me a RASH of shit about buying an ACR and told me to get the SCAR instead. 6 months into it and I have no regrets.

Well the price is looking good but it's still overweight. I will buy one when I get my priorities right.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who randomly throws their gun in muddy ponds. My BCM function great after I did that, but it wouldn't hold the bolt opened. Not sure why, but I can never bring myself to toss my AK74 in the mud...

With income tax coming in soon I am thinking hard about picking up a ACR.
