Just got my new 4-16x PST from Midway and have a question....

....took it out of the shipping box and noticed that the exterior of the scope box had that "thrown down the driveway" look with lots of scuffs, then opened it up to find that the scope recess edges in the cardboard were all broken/smooshed in appearance, and the plastic wrap on the scope itself over the elevation turret had been almost "rubbed through". I realize this is not a $2K optic, but all of this seemed less than confidence inspiring, especially since the two 2-7x Vipers I have arrived in pristine condition.

Anyways, I'm sure the scope functions great....we'll see, but I figured I'd let you guys know about maybe a QC issue from the factory's box supplier....

Both my PST 1-4x and PST 2.4-10x arrived in similar condition... both scopes seem to be fine though.

Couple of pictures from my Midway acquisition.

Scope checks out just fine, and I'll know for sure once I get to the range this weekend. Looks like the box did its job and protected the scope, so I won't worry about it.

BTW - This is my first Vortex and I'm very impressed with the apparent quality. If it holds up (and the warranty suggests that it should) I think I'm going to be very happy with it.

Sorry about the box. Our supplier for the box made some of them wrong, which I think allowed the scope to move around inside too much and damage it. We've since corrected that. Hopefully your scope is fine, but if you have any problems just let us know and we'll take care of it.
