That's right, The best wife in the world got me one for XMAS with the BDC reticle! Damn I am stoked!
Sam - First thing is first, can you please tell me what Butler Creek caps fit this thing?
Long story short, This will go on my Remmy 700 30'06 as I have been wanting to try some longer range shooting. While I will not be a bundle of information for alot of you folks that have forgotten more about scopes than I know, I will be glad to answer any questions anyone has. Glass is clear from edge to edge throughout the power range, the turret clicks are very firm, and is labeled for 14MOA (IIRC) of elevation adjustment in a single turn. I will do the box test once sighted in, as precise and consistent adjustment is important to me. I have different loads for my rifles and I log the adjustments between the loads so when I change I can adjust the scope, and shoot once to verify.
Sorry there is more gloating than information in this post, but like I said, I'm stoked and pics will be following shortly.

Thanks for the post!
I will measure the scope and let you know which caps you'll want on Monday.
Looking forward to hearing your range report!

Sam - did you by chance have an opportunity to find out what size Butler Creeks fit the DB 4-12x?
Update on everything so far....
My wife had such a great time New Year's Eve, she dropped our camera and broke it.
I did have a change of heart and the scope is mounted and zeroed on my AR vs. my 700. (I guess I need to acquire another one.)
Resettable Turrets - Simple and easy. Hold the turret, undo the screw/lift/reset/replace screw.
Box test using bipod and sandbags, as I do not shoot this well without both. - Tested 1" increments to 5" for elevation. This was perfect with no deviation from 4 clicks = 1".
Tested 1" increments to 5" for windage. Same held true here, no deviation from 4 clicks = 1".
I am really happy with mine and can't wait to get to out and bang some steel.
Correction from the OP - One complete turret turn = 15 MOA.

Sorry, I completely forgot to check for you. The 4-12x40 Diamondback has a 43mm ocular OD and a 48mm objective OD. According to the Butler Creek chart here:
It looks to me like you'd want to use the #18 eyepiece and #28 objective.
Thanks for the update on the range report. I'm glad to hear that you're happy with the scope!
