 AR-10 (T) carbine

I was at the range the other day and there was a fellow shooting a AR-10 (T). Not that this is unusual but I hadn't seen one in this configuration before. It had green furniture, a collapsible stock, and a free float forend with a quadrail at the end of it. He claimed he had bought it this way from the factory a couple of years ago. I've looked all over the internet and can't find any reference. The only thing I could find was a pic of a rifle that was labeled AR-10 TCB is this what that rifle was? I also noticed that the T on the lower was in marked like this (T). Any help in identifying it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

Armalite has done "semi-custom" runs of rifles in different configurations every year.

The 16" T rifles are a common "limited time" config. They bring it back every couple years with different options each time.

Here is the current/most recent 16" T carbine.

This rifle was just like that one except for the collapsable stock, green furniture and the last 4" of quadrail on the end of the FF tube. Just seemed odd I couldn't find a picture of one anywhere.

billyjo, Armalite has stated that they are doing a run of the above rifle in August. I called a couple of months ago and got on the list to get an upper. Call them if you want one.

I wonder why you don't see more of them around? I couldn't find one on the normal gun auction sites either. I talked to the owner agian and I'll be buying this one from him on Monday. I got quite a deal on it. Is there any reason to by the 20 round mags over the 25, seems like everyone would want the 25 rounders?

The 25 rounders get a little long for prone/bench use. The 20 rounders are even with the grip.

It's been awhile since we offer the 10T Carbine. It used to be called The Navy Model. The 10TCBNF isn't a standard offering from us which is why you don't see them around. We're looking at offering this as a standard if the sales continue to be as good as they are now. It's a great varmit gun. One shot...........done.

DO IT!!! I know that there is a ton of interest in the AR-10T carbine model. I personally hunt with one (among other 16" barreled AR-10 type rifles) and know others who are interested in picking up both complete carbines and uppers in this configuration from Armalite. I have a friend who is trying to find one of the U10TCBNF uppers now after he shot mine a while back. Hell, I'd probably pick up another one just to keep in storage. This is one of the best configurations of the AR-10 that I have had the opportunity to use!

TR, you guys are still on to build a batch of the TCBNF's this month? I certainly hope so. I'm on the waiting list for an upper, called around April to get in.

Please, please tell me that these are going to be built soon. I'm waiting on the TA11E to top it from the group buy.

Patience has never been my strong suit.

Well, I went a round about way of getting my 10Tc

I had the ar10T Was not a fan of carrying that heavy beast at all.

But it could shoot well.

On the EE, met a guy who had the 10T carbine, I had the big one, we swapped complete uppers and were both very happy.

My 10Tc is my go to gun. It still has the fixed stock, and still has the pinned on blast enhancer (err, muzzle break)

But it rocks, kills deer and anything else I point it at dead.

Everytime.
