If you are talking about the ALOSTYR handguards, they are really good stuff. They are NOT free float rails, but replace the regular handguards, and there are 3 screws on each side to lock the rails together, for a total of 6 screws keeping the rail system tight.

The ALOSTYR also has the top and bottom rail at different heights, if you are using it on an AR, you put the short rail up so it matches with your upper, if you are using an AR10, you put the higher rail up, so it still matches with your upper. If you are using it on an A1 or A2 style upper, I guess you could use it either way you want to, in case you want to elevate your co-witness or something along those lines.

I have one on a rifle length gun for about 3 years now, and it works great. I just picked up two midlengths when they had the Armalite Christmas sale last year for my Bushmaster BAR-10 Midlength and a RRA midlength I have too.

Rock solid, not too heavy, but if you want a Free Float, these aren't it.

No, I don't think they look like a UTG. But if they do, it would be because UTG copied them, not the other way around.

Just curious because the UTG's came first i believe..I didn't say quality would be the same...there's no way UTG would be built as well as Armalite, unless Armalite's handguards are made in China too? I Doubt it.

China? No I don't think so.

There's a thread about six down from this one discussing these handguards. In it it says...

Sales dept said they have my order but no ETA on the handguards. Any help getting these would be appreciated.

We've had them available from time to time but then they are bought out and go on backorder again. We have some 10705111KIT's in stock and 2) 10705112KIT's in stock. The 10705110KIT is on backorder at this time. Did you place an order with us or are you waiting for them to become available?

Looks like we're building some next month (barring any issues that may arise) but I can't tell you if that batch will include your order or not.
