A1 lower ordered 12-09-08 ***UPDATE: Finally Got It Done !!! 8-10-09 *****

Gray A1 lower ordered sent in December 12-03-08 email confirmation of order received 12-09-08.
I certainly understand the back log and really appreciate the fact that NDS is offering the lowers.
I'm doing a Retro build for my Dad (Vietnam Vet 68-69) and his birthday is almost here.
I was hoping to have this done for him for his Bday this middle of Feb., but no big deal really.
I think a some Metamucil and Depends undergarments as gag gifts will really set the tone for giving him his riflle when it does get completed early this spring.... I hope.
He knows I'm up to something and has been wanting to snoop around my shop....I won't let him
My kids almost blew the deal with their big mouths, but I'm holding it together pretty well...I think.
I didn't want to bug you guys with a phone call or email as per your request so I posted here on the off chance that if you had moment to spare you might be able to provide an approx. ETA.
for me as well others in the same time frame.
Meanwhile , I just continue to upgrade parts where needed and pick up accessories.
No worries here, just do a good job as I know you guys will.

You must have just missed the last batch.
We are cutting more right now, and I expect to have finished, anodized NDS-16A1 lowers in early March.

thanks for reply, I knew I was close on the last cut off so Early March will be just fine.

Patience has now paid off !!
I received my notification via email from Harlan that my long awaited retro lower has been shipped.

Finally got it done !!! I just didn't have the time to get it done when it I arrived back in late May. So here it is ready to go to my Dad.....
M16A1 clone circa 1969 the year I was born.
Not a perfect clone but close enough to give as a gift to my Dad.
He served in the PBR (Patrol Boat River) Task Force 116 at Mobile Base 2 Mekong Delta
After his tour, he honorably served 20 plus yrs in the US Navy as a Storekeeper (supply)
As you can imagine he's seen a lot of this world the good and the bad.
This rifle is to thank him for not only being my father but his service to this country and others.
"Welcome Home Dad"
NDS M16A1 Retro with a laser engraved Unit isignia.
I'd like to give a big "THANKS" to the NDS crew for offering and putting out these Retro parts to make these builds possible.Definitely Worth The Wait !!
The receiver is a pretty good match to the upper and locks ups good and tight.
The takedown pin holes are a bit tight right now but with a little usage will be just right I think.
90% of the rest is Colt . Only thing that needs upgrading is the charging handle needs to be gray.
Simple yet meaningful I think...

Very nice, your dad looked very happy in the pics you posted on the other sight.
