 A few more PVS-14 Questions

1. Using the TM-14 Mount will the PVS-14 do ok on an AR-10 Battle rifle, or is the recoil too much?

2. Using ths PVS-14 behind a Bushnell TRS-25 (On a Training Rimfire Gun) on the lowest setting, is there any chance I could damage the tube?

My Thompson Machine CLandestine C just got approved, so looking to do some training at night with the setup without bothering too many people.

Thanks again.

Check the PVS-14 FAQ that is tacked in the NV Forum in the Armory. Short answer, the ITT Pinnacle tubes are not recoil rated for 7.62, so the recommendation is not go any heavier than 6.8mm with a Pinnacle tube. If you go with a Litton/L3 (like I did) you will be fine.

The TRS-25 will bloom (and be all but unusable) in front of a PVS-14. You will need a real T-1 or an EoTech with a true NV setting.

Thanks for the response. I have a pinnacle tube. Oh well, active only for that I guess. I have a few T-1s, just don't want to buy another for a training gun. Thanks

I just put the TRS-25 on low and looked through it with NV. It blooms a little, but acceptable for a training .22.

Will doing this cause any damage to the tube?

Be careful of this to be sure no burn spot will appear on your tube. Also, another good trick is to turn down the gain on your 14 to mitigate the reticle blooming. Hope this helps.

Im switching out the TRS-25 for a Vortex SPARC which has a "night Mode"... im sure it will eventually turn out to be a T-1 on there. I will be training with it in an active role more than passive, so it wont get much time behind the sight. Thanks
