Promised I'd post when I got a chance to try some reloads in my 18" P415. First up was a load comprised of a Hornady 68gr. HPBT in BH and Federal cases with 22.5gr of Ramshot TAC with a CCI400 to light the fire. This load is on the lower end of the scale and it didn't do to well at about 2" (100 yds 5 shots). The group was nicely rounded and not strung out so I'll try working up a half grain at a time and see if it tightens up. The next bullet I tried was the Hornady 60gr V-MAX. I'd loaded from 22.5grs up to 24 grs in half grain increments (TAC powder as well) and just for the heck of it shot the 24 grain load first. I got a nice 5 shot cloverleaf group of almost exactly an inch. I fired 3 more 5 shot groups with this load to make sure it wasn't a fluke and they were all about the same ranging from 1 to 1 1/4" . Seemed to be very consistent. As the barrel started to heat up a bit I was concerned that the groups would start walking a bit but they didn't. So, I'm going to experiment with the V-Maxes some more and see if I can't tighten the groups up somewhat. All of my handloads shot better than any factory stuff I've shot so far. This rifle is really fun to shoot and I was pretty happy to get some good results out of it first time with reloads. All of my load info came off of Loaddata.com. Hope this helps anyone thinking of trying reloading for their 415's. Jim
