Went to the range again today. Shot about 80 - 100 rounds. This gun runs pretty damn good now. The only "hiccup" it had was a failure to lock the bcg open on the last round once, which might be attributed to the mag. Flawless in my book. After getting it back from POF, I am MORE than satisfied with my rifle and stand behind it. Put about 600-700 through it since I got it back and it's been a beast.

Well I'm not entirely sure exactly what they did. I know they replaced the handguard, barrel, reciever, and the new roller cam pin. When I first got it, the handguard was bent to one side and the thing wouldn't extract to save it's own life... it would rip the shit out of the rims on brass cassings though. At least I knew the extractor was strong. There is some debate that when I bought it the guy at the store sold me a used one and purported it as being new. That might explain it being a bit "beat". Maybe it took a HARD fall in just the right way that it wasn't scratched that bad. There was a good ding that you could see if you were looking for it on the handguard which to me said either it took a hard knock or someone put something heavy on it / ran over it with something heavy. I'm not sure. But it is working like a champ so far. Very pleased.

I didn't get the new reciever though. I got a new one of the previous version.

Do you plan on taking any carbine classes with your pof? You know, to really test this sucker out?

I would LOVE to take a carbine class... however at 1000 - 2000 + USD... I don't see that happening any time soon. If someone is willing to sponsor my attendance or put out some "scholorships"... I'm all for it!!! Let me know when!

[Edit] Also, this POF is my only AR as of now. (Got half of another one just need an upper for it now)... It's not that I don't trust it, but I would think it would not be wise to go to a class without a backup.

Yea that's true, it would be a good idea to have a back up. So you would need at least 2k of ammo?

What lower did you get and what kind of an upper are you planning on getting?

I have it sitting on a LMT Defender w/ LMT Two stage trigger and the sopmod stock. Put another 60 rounds downrange again today. Flawless. Decent grouping for me too. Aprx. 88% where inside the silhouette target at 100 yards with iron sights and the majority of those in the critical area. Stationary targets let you feel good about yourself, hehe. I don't shoot from the bench either. I gave that up when I found out that I was a crappy shot without one and figured I would not be given one in the hypothetical real life situation.

I've been looking at getting a DI gun. I like a few of them out there. Mainly looking at Larue Stealths. There are a few others out there that I like as well... but who knows when I'll pick it up.

Well I really don't know what target exactly it was. Something for pistol NRA competition target that they sell at my range. They don't have a big selection. Just big bull or small bull, that's it. So I wanted to try something different this time and modified it with a sharpie, a computer printout of a heart for fun, and a shoot'n c for the "head"... it was "about" my size when I would stand in front of it. I looked up some targets online and made a "recreation" of the target in photoshop with some rough outlines of where the shots were placed. there were one or two to the left top as well. I was pretty satisfied but know I could do better. I guess I should say that I was satisfied with making progress. The shots in the lower part of the target were aimed at the heart. The ones near the "head" were aimed at the shoot'n c target on top.
