Black POF Uppers
Are POF uppers still available in black, or are they all going to have exterior NP3 plating?
Am I the only one that doesn't like the two-tone mismatch of the NP3?
Nope...I'm totally with you on that.
think they still do produce some in black
Does anybody have any good to go literature on the NP3 that makes it some great coating that you pay so much for?
Here is some information from
Robar. It sounds like it's great stuff, but I agree; the looks are lacking. I talked to POF a couple of months ago when the really started switching all of their systems to the NP3. At that time it was still a choice of which finish you wanted. I don't know what they say now, howeve I just got a lower and it was black.

Thanks! I might send them my XD to get some work done.
When they called my buddy to say his P308 was ready, they asked if he wanted the NP3 rifle that was available or if he wanted to wait for black. I take it that they are still producing both.

Have you guys that don 't like the NP3 coating seen it in person? In photos I'd agree.....but in person it looks awesome.
Sean
Nope, haven't seen it in person yet. No one has them in stock.

Although I've never had a long gun in NP3, I have had several handguns with it. There is much more to it than the looks. The metal parts slide much smoother and the action feels great. VERY smooth trigger and action!

The store I work at has had a few in, and while they do look pretty good (308's and the P415s with rails), the look isn't for me. Maybe if I get enough money to buy a second one. I love the NP3 coating on the inside of the receivers to help reduce friction, as well as the bolt carrier though. Less friction, pretty easy to clean, and fairly durable.
