I'm new to the site, tried the search but too stupid to get a match. So here goes, sorry... I'm sure its been discussed in detail earlier. H&K's 416, never going to get it I know... however is Patriot Ordinance Factory's uppers compariable. Are they worth it? and will they fit on a Bushmaster lower? I have read alot about the gas piston and it sounds good. I will be carrying this gun on duty...and maybe one day have a shot at a terrorist(haha), just kidding, sorta). Just wanted to get some feedback. Sorry for asking a question I'm sure is old, just trying to learn, Thanks! Also which POF upper would you recommend, if you do at all? Again Thanks!

I do have a POF 11.5" on my Colt M16 and loved it. To some they are pricey but if you can afford 1 by all means get 1, less maintenance is a big + for me.

I've fired several different types of systems (both gas op & piston op) and I won't be buying anything other than POF uppers. I know that's a strong statement and others may disagree (but again, opinions are like buttholes...). If you ever get the chance to shoot a POF system, you'll see were I'm coming from. +1 for the cleaning aspect. Pricey?...to some. Worth it...most definitely...especially when your life depends on it.

Best out there, If you wait until Nov, Dec, hk 416 should release to leo dealers, once that happens you will be able to pick one up at a good price. They are out there now , but crazy prices. I got to shoot hk 416 , POF just as good with alot of extras above HK, plus it is easier to deal with POF on parts and service than the dreaded HK.

A bit in the expensive side, but well worth the price. I've got nothing but good to say about the quality of their rifles and their service.

I disagree about the expensive part. Buy a DI AR/M4 with a Mike Rock barrel and a rail on it and compare prices, not too big of a difference. If you don't like cleaning your AR, you'll like a POF.

Thank you.
Most people also forget to look at all the coating/plating that is included "Standard",
on all of our gas piston weapon systems.

C.R.O.S. (Corrosion Resistant Operating System)

Chrome lined barrel / M4 barrel extension
Chrome lined Gas block w/ tube assemble
Chrome plated gas plug
Chrome plated reversable gas piston
Chrome plated bolt carrier assemble (billet machined one piece carrier/mech. key)
Silicone Nickel plated upper receiver (interior only)
Silicon Nickel plated charging handle (interior only)

We are the only manufacture to offer weapon system with these features "Standard" on our entire line of weapon systems we manufacture.
Our C.R.O.S. allows our gas piston weapon system to operate without lube. Cleaning is as simple as wiping the operating parts with a rag.

Best regards
