MCTAR-17P use on a non gas piston upper

I am looking at purchasing item #MCTAR-17P for my Osprey gas piston equipped 11.5" upper.
Question: Can this handguard set also be used on a regular carbine upper with a standard (non gas piston) gas tube system?

Just got my rails for my Osprey kit.
These rails lock up tight!
The only way to go if you have an Osprey kit.

I'm still set back every time I pick up my rifle at the quality and fit of these for the price point. Very nice.

Let me say that I am VERY pleased with my MI hand guards on my Osprey gas piston upper.
1) They solved the heat problem I was having; the upper runs MUCH cooler now, like practically night and day difference.
2) They fit snug.
3) They look good.
4) They feel good.
A slight negative: Now that my upper runs much cooler in full auto, with all those holes for ventilation, my left hand gets a little dirtier from the exhaust gas. The exhaust gas feels like a puff of warm air washing over your hand, not uncomfortable at all.
