I was wondering if the flash hiders that come standard on the .22 Evolution uppers are removable or perm. attached? I hope removable so I can just thread my .22 suppressor on it.

It's on very tight, without a crush washer so it's a little tough to get off
but there are threads under it. You're in Luck...

My 20" upper came with an A2 flash suppressor. I had no trouble removing it.

Hopefully, they are easier to remove now. CMMG is good about taking suggestions and putting them into effect.

Dave, does CMMG use Rockset? Is a barrel vise or a mag well block needed?

They don't use any Rockset or Loctite. I advise guys to take it off when they receive it. I believe after shooting it for a while, the lead spray settles on it and makes it more difficult to remove. Just theory though.
I did use a barrel vise on mine. I also used a propane torch to heat it.

I used a barrel vise and a lot of force. Once you get past the first change,
the ones that follow on other uppers are less scary...
