Description says it's BHOA compatible.
Does that mean you need the conversion kit to work with the BHOA?
Will there be a special conversion kit for the short mag with a shorter spring?

You will still need the BHOA.
Not sure what you are asking about the shorter spring conversion. The mag will work with any Atchison conversion kit.

The shorter magazine doesn't need a different conversion.
It can work with or without a BHOA installed in an older conversion
or a new conversion set up for the BHOA. The BHOA just won't
function with an older version of the CMMG Bolt. Hope that's a
broad enough explanation...
