Malkoff drop-in in SF 618 forend?

I received a Surefire 618FA forend for my 12 ga HD 870 for Christmas. I also asked for and received one of your M60F drop-ins for it (invoice #4102). The SF 618FA has a P60 lamp assembly dropping into an L60 lamp module. Everything I've read on the Internet suggests that your M60 drop-in should work fine with that light. However, it appears it will not fall in deep enough to contact the batteries in the lamp housing of mine. It gets wedged into the housing if I try to tighten the bezel down onto the housing. I also bought the O-ring from you, but I can't find anyway that it's going to help my situation. Any ideas for what needs to be done?
I'm willing to switch out either the Surefire light or the drop-in to make it work. Thanks.
I got a drop in for mine and it works fine... I think they stretch the spring if you tell them its for a shotgun light but not 100% on that.
