PS90 barrels?
do you guys shorten PS90 barrels for the SBR conversions? they are threaded 12mm left hand, so i assume you dont, but i thought id ask.
Bump
Oops, sorry. Yes, we should be able to do that.

We can do it, but due to the design of the design of the sleeved barrel, we charge more to cut your barrel, than if you bought one of the available short replacement barrels.
what i was going to do, and what most people do, is chop through the sleeve and the factory barrel right behind the pin. id bascially send you a 14 or 15 inch barrel stub and have you cut it to the proper 10.4 inch length and then have you cut 12mm left hand threads into it.
currently there are two big names that do this kind of work (TROS and Hi Desert Dog), and they are both slower than hell.
with your reputation for cutting clean, concentric threads in a timely fashion, i think you guys could take over the SBR PS90 market. for most shops, the problem is knowing exactly where to cut the barrel to and doing the left hand threads.

We can do it, we've done them before. If you are sending the barrel removed from the gun its no problem at all.
awesome. how do i order that on your website? do i select the regular AR threading and include a note?
also, do you already know the proper dimensions to cut it to? i dont have any blueprints to make a copy of the P90 barrel.
ETA I placed the order and used the regular threading option. I included a note that stated if it costs more than the regular option, to just charge me the difference. Thanks!

We have your barrel, but we dont have the specs on how/where you want it cut. Let me know where we are measuring from. We need to make sure you get what you want, and not what you ask for here

I asume you want it cut to 10.3" and threaded 12x1LH with a thread length of 0.955"
My atf form says 10.3, but im not 100 percent sure that 10.4 isnt the proper length. Ill find out and let you know asap.
ive got a few calls in and emails out to people i think can help me. not to mention a few forum posts.
i basically want you guys to make a copy of the P90 barrel for me. as soon as i find out the P90 barrel specs, ill let you know (unless the 10.3/.955 thread length measurment GreenM4Guy mentioned is the P90 spec, in which case thats exactly what i want). im also trying to find a measurement for the thread form just prior to where the threads start at the muzzle.
thanks again.
ive got the specs for the P90 barrel finally!
Barrel Threads 12mm x 1 Left Hand
Barrel OAL: 10 13/32"
Crown to last thread: .98"
Muzzle step down diameter: .4" for a length of .17"
i was told they put a thread relief behind the last thread. dont know exactly what that means? is that just a minor chamfer?
Sounds good, yes its a small cutout just deeper than the threads root diameter. Should be able to get it done tomorrow.
Cut the barrel just behind the blind pin near the flash hider (you are cutting through the barrel and the sleeve). Barrel sleeve will now unthread left hand. You'll immediately see a captive spring on the end of the barrel against the receiver. If you take a piece of 3/8" wood dowl and push the barrel back from front to rear you will capture both this spring and the charging handle guide spring (the barrel supports both) and hold them in place until you get your new barrel back. In reverse, push the new barrel back to front, place your PS90 flash hider or adaptor (I bought mine from CMMG) on the end of the barrel (hold adaptor in place, rotate barrel left hand for threading) and wala!
ADCO does great work...and you'll love your new SBR.
