shaving fsb

i have a 14.5 barrel with a pined battle comp. the barrel has an a2 fsb and i would like it shaved down to fit under a troy trx extreme rail. does shaving the fsb require removing the pinned comp?

Yes we have to remove the FSb from the barrel.
