 Loaders for 308 PMAGs?

I have searched & surfed on this subject and can find no definitive answers anywhere. Is there no speed loader that works with these especially the Gen 2 20LR modell SR-25?

I suppose I will ask Maglula if the DPMS/SR25 LULA loader they've announced for 2013 will work with the Magpul?

Report back here with what you find out. I would like to know! Thanks.

Well I had thought it might be a dumb question but I guess not.

I might've guessed that Magpul's 308 PMAGs were very popular thus there'd be a loader available for them.

I've emailed Maglula but have been warned they will be slow to respond.

You might get a faster responce from LULA as it is their product.

Well I did already get an email response from Guy Tal at Maglula:

"A loader for the .308 Pmag will be available late next month J"

Assuming of course this means late July, this is very good news!!!

Yr welcome but unfortunately Guy didn't address my question to him about Gen3 PMAGs.

Hopefully the loader will work with both gens (maybe someone here knows if the Gen3 might differ from the G2 up top) but we will have to wait to find out for sure I guess.

Complete speculation here but my 5.56 MagLULA has worked with every kind of AR mag I have ever tried. I would think this is due to the fact they need to fit into the same weapon envelope - the AR lower receiver. I would imagine if the new 7.62 AR MagLULA works with the SR25 mags then it will work with all the generations of MagPul mags. Apples to apples - the envelope is the same regardless of the generation of LR PMags...

But... I could be completely wrong...

You have MagLULA experience that I do not, thus I am inclined to believe your assumption is correct. It fits too with Guy's ignoring my comment about G2 vs G3--otherwise I might've expected to hear some sort of caveats from him i.e. "we're waiting on Gen3 samples to confirm fit" or some such. But he didn't qualify availability in any way; if it were me I'd have included some sort of hedge, if not on fit then of ETA, just on general principles!

Apparently this thread is confirming my premise, that no loader exists on Planet Earth that works with 308 PMAGs; I'm really surprised about this!

You have to realize there is no "standard" for .308 ARs when it comes to magazines. The 5.56 ARs have a standard that is long established while .308 ARs have, I think personally, finally tipped in favor of the SR25/DPMS magazine design. The Armalite guns were using modified M-14 mags and another company went with an FAL style magazine. Top it off there aren't as many .308 ARs compared to the millions of 5.56 ARs. I think all that ends up being a partial answer to the lack of a widely available loader.

I have LULAs for my ARs, AKs and double stack pistols - they all work fantastic and I recommend them to all my shooting friends. I think the MagLULA folks did a poll last year for what they should make next and a .308 SR25 magazine loader was the overwhelming winner. I have good feelings about these and will buy one when they are available! Now to get the Gen 3 LR mags released!

Each of my hands came with five mag loaders. Seriously, it's not like they're huge, or hard to load.

Yup, and another fact: every party has a pooper!
