UBR replacement parts? (receiver extension and screw)

I need to buy a new UBR receiver extension (RE) and screw.

The one that I have was installed via red loctite...

I didn't do the installation, as I've worked with cars plenty and I know where to use red loctite and where not to.... anyhow, I'd like to "fix" this - should I need to remove the RE down the road.

I'm willing to pay for a new RE and screw... but I'm not sure this is possible?

Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate that.. but I should have clarified in my original post.

The UBR uses Magpul's proprietary RE design and the standard AR RE will not work.

If that RRA part does not fit I would be very surprised.

After researching it, I think both of you might be right. However, I'd rather not try something and end up wasting my money.

I'd prefer to purchase authentic Magpul parts... is that possible?

I'm sure if you call them, they'd hook you up.

I have a UBR, and the RRA extension and they are indeed the same. I think the Magpul is slightly better quality as far as manufacturing goes, but your rifle wouldn't know the difference.

Have you tried heat to loosen the Locktite? I'd throw a strap wrench on there instead of using the flats on the back. Although if it is REALLY on there don't use a cheater or anything or you might tweak the lower. I'd imagine with a little heat gun action, you'd probably be able to remove it with just your bare hands though.

Good luck!

I emailed Justin awhile ago (beginning of this year, maybe) about UBR replacement parts. He said that they did indeed plan on producing UBR parts for sale as individual items, but did not have a solid ETA, due to many more things in front of the priority line.

They did come out with the UBR strikeplate, though. That's a good sign.
