mine was commercial but I think they said you could add a note for milspec and they'd do it.

Thanks. My this is for a friends rifle. He didn't upgrade or anything so I assume it is commercial.

I understand the difference between the commercial and mil spec tubes. My question is why would anyone use the commercial? Why do they exist? What is the point? Are they just cheaper for the manufacturer?

From this post I must assume that my DTI rifle is also a commercial tube. I had not thought about it.
