Has anyone used Tula ammo through their Del-ton? If so what have you observed?

depends what gas system you have.

it runs good in my 16 middy, but not good in my 20.

i only tried 50 in each gun.

yanno, i can get m193 5.56 for 30 cents each, why mess with cheap ass tula.

anyway, you have to sight in your gun and all different ammo hits at different ranges. you should pick an ammo that works and stick with it.

i compete with my del-tons, so i have to sight in at certain ranges for certain types of competitions. i have to know how my ammo performs to know how many clicks i need at certain yardages. you cant do that if you use crappy ammo. its not consistant enough.

I have a 16" M4 with an Adams Arms piston kit and it shoots the Tulammo, Wolfs and Bears. I haven't tried the Golden Tiger in it and really don't plan on it. I've been using PRVI Partizan and its smooth as a greased pig.

I've shot a bunch of it. Really dirty ammo but hasnt failed to go bang yet, in my rifle anyway. I've shot it in my 1911 and reliably get 2 or 3 misses where I have to recock and shoot again, but for cheap plinking/practice ammo you probably cant beat it.

its cheap and works. hits a little low and sounds a bit lite ,but for the range or just to stock up you cant beat it... hope you like to clean your weapon my delton 16 inch w/osprey piston shoots it just fine

My 1/7CL M4 loves Tula white box or Tula Walmart black box special. I've run at least 700 rounds thru my upper. I ran thru 200 rounds this past Saturday - 1-1/2 to 2" groups at 100 from a bipod on the bench with unsupported rear stock. Not bad.

I didn't think it is too dirty; but the chrome lining makes clean up a snap. I'm also running the Ti-Nitrate BCG (Delton quit carrying these) & they clean up with Breakfree CLP and a cloth.

I'd like to try out some Tula 62g & 75g to see how it shots. I've shot the Silver & Golden Bear - it's fine too. Now the Walmart stores near my house seem to be having trouble keeping Tula 55g in stock; Dang!

i will not advise shooting steel cased ammo. i will advise people to buy it online in bulk if you want to save money. The walmart Tulammo is not that cheap, compared to buying it in bulk. for instance, wally's price is 5 bucks for 20 rds. that works out to $250 per thousand rounds. online i can get it for $200 per thousand rounds. OR i can get premium XM193 5.56 ammo for $300. i would rather buy the hotter 5.56 ammo and know it will work every time and shoot tight.

I've had some issues with my extractor destroying the rim on Wolf, as such I switched to Fiocchi 55gr FMJBT. The Wolf always went bang, but after two failures to extract, one of which had to be rammed out, I'm done with wolf in my AR. Other firearms maybe, but not in my rifle that I depend on.

i bought a case of Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics for $289 last Christmas and it has done very well. I did have 1 bad primer, but that was it. It groups pretty well, for .223.

Using Wolf or any other steel cased or laquer coated ammo voids the Del-Ton warranty. there is a reason, its because of experiences like yours and because it is unreliable in many situations, such as depending on your rifle for protection.

it does do well in my Mini-14 and thats what I buy it for, but then again, i dont rely on my mini-14.

I had it sheer off most of my lugs on the bolt (may have been one of their bolts they had issues with awhile back) bought a new bolt had shoots just fine. Although I say away from that type of ammo if I can find cheap stuff elsewhere.

My Carbine eats Wolf with zero problems. This though is all new production ammo

Yep, no issues in mu Middy. It eats all the Tula, Wolf and whatever else I can get the cheapest!

you cheapskates can keep your Tula. My Deltons deserve XM193 and thats what they get. Ive bought 3 thousand rounds so far this year.

My extractor was chipping the rims on Silver & Golden bear - never had any FTE issues though? The extractor seems just fine.
