Im interested in what setups some of you experienced bow hunters would suggest to hunt at night with a bow. The setup would need to be able to hit a target @ 40 yards in the dark with the set up being at least 'Mobil'. If that's a combination of gear worn on the shooter or affixed to the bow. My thinking is a good green light (150-250 lumens)with a aiming laser so the peep isn't needed.
The idea is to locate and sneak up on hogs using a thermal handheld then use bows to harvest. Sight recommendations? I'm open to any ideas.

Please post any pics or links you thing will be helpfull. Thanks

I'd use a crossbow and your normal night sights.

Here's one I set up. A PSE TAC-15 upper on an AR-15 lower. PVS-14 behind an EOTECH 552. IR light on the bottom rail.

Thats a sweet setup. Ive been talking to the guys at the archey shop about one. They say its awsome. How do you like it?
As of now I've had dozens of calls about bow hunting, not one about crossbow hunting. I wonder why? They seem slick as snot and my optics slap right on.

It shoots fine. I had a part break so I had to send it back to PSE for them to fix it. No big deal. I had it chronoed and it averaged 398 FPS. I have a 3/4" rubber stall mat as a back drop for the hanging target. It stops the arrows out of the Hoyt Katera easy. The PSE sends bolts right thru the mat.

Starting last year in TX, crossbows are now legal to use during archery season.

My tip (from lots of exp practicing bow shooting in the dark at a dark target ) is just dont bother with your bow.

Now, if one were so inclined, one could theoretically get glow in the dark paint and paint dots for ref on the peep and maybe even on the front sight.....

Anything else, even with good moonlight, is destined to fail without light on the peep for alignment.
