Prince wales Island Black bear

Anyone ever hunt up there? I'm headed there in about ten days and wondered if any of you guys had been there and what it was like. I'm going with some guys that go every year and know the place real well. This will be my first bear hunt and I'm pretty excited. I'm good on my gear and rifle, just wondering about terrain and hunting conditions.

Why don't you post this in the AK hometown forum? I'm pretty sure you might get a few responses.
Personally I haven't hunted Prince of Wales isle. I've hunted other islands in the sound but not that one.

I won't be of much help as I don't know where you will be hunting.
That said, I can tell you something.
I hope you are planning to hunting Black Bears and not the Browns unless your friends are Registered Guides.
You see, out of Staters can't hunt Browns without a Registered Guide.

Yes, but here is the deal for the Sept hunts they put in restrictions that you can not take a vehicle to your spot. SO you have to use a boat to get to your location. So you can not take your truck to a spot and then walk.

Best I remember is that there are no Brownies on POW, just blackies.
