I'm a horrible photographer! It looks way, way better in person. Definetly better now!
Before
After
It was my DIY Alaska hunt from Cordova. The hide was 6 feet and the skull was 18 inches. 40 yard shot with a .338WM and it only went 10 feet.
Edit to add: I have no idea why the pics make it look like it has a bump on it's head?
looks good, what does something like that cost?
I think it was $250 per foot.
I hate you
congratulations. I wanna go bear hunting

That's a good looking bear. I'm still about 8 months away from my bear rug coming home.
Nice! Very Nice! Mine is having the felt sown on then it will be shipped. For $1050 I hope it is as nice as yours!
Very nice - congrats.

6' 1". Pretty good for the area. The ADF&G said that they don't get much bigger there because of it being a very harsh climate. But there are bears all over the place

That looks nice. Maybe i can get one this year.

My taxidermist really tried to get me to make a rug out of my last bear but I just didn't (and dont) have room to properly display a bearskin rug.
Those rugs are really cool.
O.P., the head on your bear looks huge, how much did the bear weigh?
How long does it usually take to make a rug? I have been waiting for 16 months now.

I takes about 9 months from most taxidermists. I have no idea how much it weighed. But it took 2 guys to drag-not carry- him to the boat. Then we almost couldn't get it into the damn boat!!
Beautiful animal! I'm interested in hearing about your DIY hunt as this is something I'm very interested in doing.
The place I hunt up in PA has black bear. I'm gonna license up this fall and have a go at em.
