I like to bird hunt, ducks and geese mostly but I'll hunt doves and any other species I get an opportunity to. My current shotgun of choice is a Mossberg 835 and I like using 3/12 inch shells for ducks and geese. The shotgun is about 13 years old and for some reason doesn't feed reliability right now and also I had too many shots this duck season where the firing pin barely hit the primer and the gun went click while a bird flew off.
So my question is should I have the 835 checked and repaired or purchase a new gun. My budget is limited so no Vinci or Supervinci's. I was thinking about either the
Stoeger 3500,
Tristar 3 1/2 inch semi auto, or sticking with a pump and buying a Remington 870 mag or new 835 from Wal-Mart.
Thoughts?
